Teacher of KS2 - Park Lane Academy

Kirklees Council are advertising this role on behalf of Park Lane Academy.

An enthusiastic and committed specialist teacher is required to be part of a multi-disciplinary team to plan, develop, coordinate and implement individual curriculum programmes for students with profound and multiple learning difficulties. The purpose of the role is to lead the teaching of SEND students further enhancing the quality of the provision within the Academy.

The role will include working closely with the SENCo and Leadership Team to develop and provide a creative, bespoke and supportive curriculum offer for students with an additional need or have an EHCP. Alongside their SEND need, students within the group may also have:

• Cognition and Learning Needs
• Communication and Interaction Needs
• Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs
• Sensory and/ or Physical Needs.
• English as an additional language

This role is required to work as part of a team including teachers, support staff and a range of other professionals to support the learning and welfare of all targeted pupils. As a key professional for the SEND provision the post holder will develop and lead strategies which will impact upon the learning and inclusion of children with SEND ensuring successful inclusion in the wider academy community. The postholder will be line managed by the SENCo at Park Lane Academy.

The successful candidate will have high expectations of students, building successful relationships that impact on the teaching and learning; have a creative vision for tailoring an education offer that is underpinned by evidence-based pedagogy and specialist approaches to teaching students with additional needs.
