Asset Maintenance Condition Officer - Mechanical

Working as the Asset Maintenance Officer (Mechanical), you will be responsible for the delivery of our mechanical services maintenance and compliance function, striving to achieve a key part of the Council’s vision – “people enjoy better health throughout their lives”
Working with colleagues, partners, external consultants and contractors, you will ensure that a high quality, customer focused, and efficient mechanical services function is delivered. You will take responsibility for both strategic and operational matters relating to mechanical services within the Corporate Landlord & Capital Service.
Responsibilities will extend within a matrix arrangement and the post holder will ensure a joined-up response to complex problems that may cut across the Corporate Landlord & Capital Service, as well as other services/directorates.
The core responsibilities of the post include
- Working alongside other mechanical team members to lead the Kirklees Council mechanical services maintenance team
- Development of the Kirklees Council policies, procedures and specifications applicable to mechanical services
- Proactive programming of mechanical service and maintenance over the complete range of mechanical elements (Inc water quality) and sites
- Interpretation of information from various certification delivery of targeted recommendations based on this information
- Working as a member of multi-disciplinary team delivering mechanical maintenance advice, guidance and designs as required for capital/revenue investment projects
- Provision of competent advice and support in relation to mechanical services to the Corporate Landlord & Capital Service and the Council more widely
- Provision of mechanical services and particularly water quality safety training across the Council.
Extensive experience in mechanical services maintenance and compliance is essential for this role.
A retention payment of £3,000 per year applies to this job and is split into two payments, in December and June. This is reviewed annually. You become eligible for the payment after 6 months of employment and successful completion of your probationary period.
