Due to maternity leave a rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the country’s leading Fire and Rescue Services on a 12 month fixed term contract; to become part of a family where everyone plays their part in making West Yorkshire Safer.

As an Accounts Officer you will provide accurate, understandable and timely financial information on the organisation’s revenue budget and final accounts, ensuring robust systems are in place to achieve economy, efficiency, effectiveness and best value for the community of West Yorkshire.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make an impact on the organisation and develop long term solutions based on financial analysis, improve financial monitoring systems and financial awareness within the organisation.

You will be a fully qualified accounting technician or part qualified accountant with experience of providing financial information to a range of users and closing a set of local government accounts. You will have extensive knowledge and experience of accounting and budgeting systems, be able to analyse complex financial information and deliver on a wide and varied area of financial work to tight deadlines.
