The Team

The team will take a positive, can do approach. We model the council behaviours and value and respect one another’s views, opinions and ideas. There has been a pilot with former youth workers testing out and developing small bits of the work. They are all enthusiastic about the direction for the work because it puts children, young people and communities at the centre.

This role will be focused at Crow Nest Adventure Playground in Dewsbury and the successful candidates would be expected to support community groups accessing the space together with developing and delivering open access play based activities for children and families from the Playground.

Working Pattern

This role will mainly involve working Saturdays and Sunday’s with an additional late afternoon agreed in advance.

You will need:

Knowledge and experience of Youth and or Play Work;

Ability to engage vulnerable/at risk young people in an informal setting that could also include streets and open spaces;

Excellent casework skills;

Leadership/management skills;

Budget management;

Positive communication skills;

Flexibility and responsiveness to the needs of individuals and groups.
