We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced and highly motivated Educational Teaching Assistant to support our Primary School teachers and pupils for two days a week initially (this could increase depending on budget). This post has become vacant to cover an experienced ETA who will be away from school for one year. The successful candidate will work across school supporting pupil learning from Reception to Year 6 in all subject areas. This will involve working 1 to 1 with pupils, with small groups and to support the class teacher in whole class teaching.

You will need to be able to work collaboratively and flexibly and build good relationships with both students and staff, demonstrating a respectful and caring attitude towards everyone in school. Experience of working with children in a school environment and having the appropriate literacy and numeracy skills to support students is essential.

Hepworth J & I School is a small primary school situated in the outskirts of Holmfirth with four mixed age classes. The successful candidate will become a member of an experienced and supportive team. Hepworth is a happy school in a very close community.

Due to the current situation with COVID-19 and school closures we may not be able to show candidates around school, however we can facilitate a phone conversation to discuss the school in more detail. At the moment we do not know if we will be able to conduct face to face interviews or whether these will be done through an online platform.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff are subject to an enhanced DBS check. A conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process.
