We are building an exceptional team to support innovation, clean growth and the circular economy.

We have developed two exciting new programmes that reflect our commitment to becoming net carbon zero and to increase SME innovation within the region. 

The Connecting Innovation programme is a new approach to SME innovation that coordinates, simplifies, promotes and communicates the innovation landscape in the City Region.

The Resource Efficient Business programme (REBiz) is an exciting new offer that provides advice and grant support to businesses to tackle resource and energy efficiency, and to explore circular economy business model transformation.

Communications and marketing are key to raising the profile of our new support programmes so we are recruiting the following two new roles:

  • One full time post (working on Connecting Innovation)
  • One 0.6FTE (working on REbiz)

The Combined Authority brings together district partners, the business community via Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership and also takes in the former Passenger Transport Executive (branded Metro). Overall, the Combined Authority covers a population of around 2.5 million people and represents the largest economy outside London.

We are looking to appoint two outstanding individuals to lead our communications activity on innovation, clean growth and the circular economy. The role will particularly focus on:

  • Planning, managing and delivering multi-channel communications and marketing campaigns aimed at promoting innovation and clean growth support.
  • Be an active advocate and champion for SME innovation/clean growth within and outside the Leeds City Region.
  • Produce high quality content for a range of on and off-line communications.
  • Build and maintain excellent working relationships with marketing, communications and other colleagues within partner organisations including central government, local authorities and private companies
  • Keep abreast of new developments, trends and technologies within innovation/clean growth.

You will hold a degree or have equivalent relevant experience and possess a relevant qualification in marketing, PR, or communications.

The successful candidate will be able to learn quickly in order to lead drive the Combined Authority’s SME messaging on these two key priorities. You will have experience of developing integrated communications and marketing campaigns and have an understanding of SME business drivers. You will also have the ability to build excellent relationships with local, regional, and national stakeholders and develop joined up communications and messaging that promotes innovation/clean growth support.
