The role will be offered as hybrid working. Whilst a lot of the role can be done from home, regular travel to a Kirklees office or site is to be expected.

About the role

Do you have experience within social housing and project management, and are ready to take on a new challenge? The Capital PMO (Capital Project Management Office) Manager will have an opportunity to positively impact the lives of our residents, through supporting the delivery of quality accommodation.

Homes and Neighbourhoods is currently undergoing significant change and improvement, with a series of projects and programmes well established within the service. The Assets and Development Team have recently developed an ambitious Assets Strategy – building on a series of activities recently completed across Assets and building safety.

The Assets and Development Team within Homes and Neighbourhoods are recruiting a Capital PMO Project Manager to develop and manage a newly established Capital PMO and it’s associated Capital PMO Delivery Board, in addition to driving forward plans within the Asset Strategy. The role will be responsible for overseeing delivery, progress and risks associated with multiple capital delivery schemes and projects.

About you

The ideal candidate will have a sound understanding of project management, stakeholder management and business improvement processes, in addition to proven knowledge and experience of the social housing environment – particularly in relation to asset management and building safety. You will also possess excellent attention to detail and be able to establish robust documentation management across a complex environment.  You will also possess an ability to oversee data collection and analysis and use this the provide robust reporting – ensuring assurance across progress and decision making by managers, the Senior Management Team (SMT) and Homes and Neighbourhoods Improvement Board.

The Capital PMO Project Manager is an exciting new role which brings with it opportunity to develop new business processes and oversee the implementation of a new PMO across asset management. The role will oversee large programmes of work across asset development and building safety, ensuring robust governance is in place and assurance across multiple activities and projects is provided to the Capital Delivery Board plus the Homes and Neighbourhoods Improvement Board. The ideal candidate will have proven management skills – and be able to line manage and direct the work of a small team of project and performance officers and administration staff. The ideal candidate will also be able to demonstrate the ability to identify and align dependencies with other change projects across the service – and manage the impact of these on capital projects.
