We are looking for officers who are positive, flexible and open to change. The SSO’s will work in one of the teams below within the Welfare and Exchequer Service.

  • 1 x post 37 hpw in Local Welfare Provision
  • 1 x post 27 hpw in Local Welfare Provision
  • 1 x post 37 hpw in Non Means-Tested Benefits

The Non Means-Tested Benefits Team delivers 5 functions: Blue Badge, Blind or Disabled Person’s Travel Pass, Free School Meals, School Bus Pass and Kirklees Passport.

The Local Welfare Provision Team delivers crisis support (such as referrals to food parcels) and administers Cost of Living Support.

You will be supported by a Team Manager and fellow SSO(s) who will look to help and work alongside you with any new or complicated work items.

SSO’s may be required to move around the service as the need arises.
