Kirklees Council are advertising this role on behalf of West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service.

As a key member of the Water Office you will assist the Water Officer to ensure that the department provides a speedy and efficient service to the Authority in terms of ensuring the supply of water from hydrants for fire-fighting. Your principal duties will include the inspection and repair of fire hydrants, fitting of indication plates, advising on hydrant requirements, clerical work and electronic maintenance of inspection records.

The successful candidate will be able to work outdoors in all weathers and have the physical fitness to undertake the desired manual handling and use of ladders. Applicants must hold and maintain a valid driving licence.

A working knowledge of hydrant installations and basic IT systems is desirable.

You will be required to work throughout the West Yorkshire region based in Leeds.
