Internally restricted job. To apply for this job you must be an employee of the Council for the duration of the recruitment process – up to and including the start date. We want Kirklees to be a place which combines a strong and sustainable economy with a great quality of life; a place with thriving communities, growing businesses, high prosperity, low inequality and where people enjoy better health throughout their lives. We’ve been on a journey over the recent years to develop a very different organisation, one which is outcome-focused

This is an exciting new role that has been created as a result of the new Kirklees Domestic Abuse Strategy 2019-21 being published in September, to enable some key pieces of work associated with the strategy to be developed and implemented.

The post will be responsible for the co-ordination and delivery of a number of priority projects, leading on multiple themes that will be determined by the Domestic Abuse Strategic Partnership. It is therefore essential that the postholder has an excellent understanding of all aspects of domestic abuse and how this impacts on victims, perpetrators, families and wider communities. It is expected that the role will allow additional capacity and contingency to support the Daily Risk Assessment Management Meetings (DRAMM) and Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC), as well as develop an understanding of the processes used to conduct Domestic Homicide Reviews and as such, a high level of partnership working will be required. The post will incorporate a wide training remit across the partnership and this will include researching best practice; creating and delivering a variety of classroom training and utilising other training methods as well as disseminating learning from various reviews. It will also include picking up on emerging issues or any legislative changes and ensuring that all partners and staff are briefed on these

You will have experience of project management, excellent working knowledge of DRAMM and MARAC, knowledge of Clare’s Law, knowledge of the Criminal Justice system and experience of designing audit tools/reviews and establishing methods to collate and share the findings across a range of partners.

In this role you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and work on exciting new projects with a range of colleagues within Communities, Adults and Children’s Services and partner agencies. Tackling domestic abuse is a key priority for Kirklees and as such, you will be line managed by the Service Manager for Domestic Abuse & Safeguarding Partnerships and be working within a supportive, committed team who are passionate about achieving the best outcomes for those who have experienced domestic abuse.

At the current time, due to Covid-19, the post holder will be required to temporarily work from home but, even under normal circumstances, the post holder will be encouraged to work flexibly to ensure the needs of the service are met whilst maintaining a good work/life balance.

This job is subject to a DBS check at the appropriate level, please refer to the Job Description/Profile.  A conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process.
