PPA cover required from Monday, 5th June 2023. This is a maternity cover post (up to 12 months). Pay will be dependent upon experience and qualifications.

As PPA cover, you will be an integral part of our team who put the children and young people at the heart of everything we do. You will plan, assess and deliver outstanding teaching and learning using proven methods and approaches that enable all young people to learn, whilst ensuring that pastoral needs are also met. You will establish excellent relationships with parents and carers and inspire trust and confidence in pupils, colleagues, families and other professionals. 

This role will be covering PPA time and will be a full time position for up to 12 months. The candidate should hold the relevant qualifications and have experience of working in a primary school setting. You will also need to be able to deliver and monitor lessons that meet the needs of all pupils and ensure that the curriculum is delivered to a high standard. The successful applicant should:

  • Display good behaviour management
  • Be Adaptable and Flexible
  • Have a strong knowledge of the UK curriculum
  • Have the ability to interact with pupils to impact on teaching and learning
  • Develop and enforce rules for behaviour, and procedures for maintaining order among students
  • Observe and evaluate students’ performance, behaviour, social development, and physical health.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Encourage students to be actively engaged in learning activities.
  • Provide suitable guidance and advice to students on educational and social matters.
  • Assign and grade homework, projects, tests, and other assessments.
  • Participate in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops (if applicable)
  • Maintain accurate and complete records

The requirements for this role are:

  • At least a Level 4 qualification or equivalent (HLTA status scale)
  • GCSE in Maths and English (Grade C or above) or equivalent
  • Recent experience of working with children
  • A clear understanding of the National Curriculum
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to motivate and inspire young minds
