The Family Time Team

Here at the Family Time Team we strive to provide the best quality family time between our children, young people and their families.

Where risks are managed to ensure safety and promote the wellbeing of all. We offer a range of skills and support to families, including parenting advice, support from pre-birth through to rehabilitation and to permanence.

Workers will be part of the professional group around our Children In Care, arranging Family Time with children’s families promoting good quality, stable and flexible Family Time. Workers will observe Family Time ensuring that children are at the centre and will step in when needed to ensure a safe and stable environment and report how Family Time progresses.

The Family Time Team are a large team of committed, enthusiastic, flexible, and supportive Family Time Facilitators and Family Support Workers. Our staff have a wide range of both experience and skills.  We work openly together ensuring that we can provide a nurturing and supportive environment in which to enable everyone to achieve and thrive to their best ability.

The Role

You will organise and facilitate Family Time for children in care with their families. Forming working relationships and liaising with parents, carers, social workers, and children, to ensure Family Time meets the needs of children and young people.  We firmly believe in the principle of delivering the right support at the right time. Contributing to social work assessments and working collaboratively to supporting children and families and enabling them to become more resilient and maximise their independence. As part of this role you will be required to record observations, and may be required to be shared within the court arena, and on these occasions you may be required to give evidence.

We are particularly interested in people who have experience of working with children and families in need of help and support. We are looking for people who can work on their own initiative, confidently and with flexibility to meet the needs of the service.
