We are looking to recruit to an Assistant Team Leader position within Homes & Neighbourhoods. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team which, in conjunction with the Logistics Officer, will develop a busy Stores and Logistics Service. The Assistant Team Leader role is full of variety & challenges, it is fast paced with opportunities to shape how we keep and deliver assets into the future. We think this will give the post-holder great job satisfaction.

Working in a busy stores’ environment, your role will be to develop and provide an efficient, effective, and customer focused materials supplies service and Store that achieves the objectives of both customer and organisation.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day service delivery, leading a small team to deliver a fast-paced high-quality logistics, storage, and delivery service.

The successful candidate will have a strong working knowledge of the stores process from receiving goods to issuing items, controlling inventory, stock keeping and delivering to site. A supportive working environment will ensure that you will be equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed with us.

Key skills include

Customer service – including balancing customer requirements with available resource to ensure we deliver what we promise.

Stock control – methodical knowledge and practice of agreed procedures

Warehousing – keeping orderly stores and records, you will be required to have a forklift truck license or willingness to work towards.

Teamwork – day to day responsibility for managing a small team, overseeing work objectives, and contributing ideas and creating flexibility to ensure all team objectives are delivered within an emerging new service
