Kirklees Council is looking to appoint a number of Driver Trainer/Assessors to deliver driver assessments for drivers of Council vehicles.

Kirklees Council has a duty of care under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 to provide training for employees who are required to drive for work.  Employers must also ensure that others are not put at risk by work related driving activities.

The Driver Training Unit carries out driving assessments for employees who drive for work in a range of vehicles including vans, LGV’s, tippers.

The assessments aim to make sure drivers of Council vehicles are safe, confident and competent to drive the Council’s fleet vehicles.

The successful applicants will be experienced fleet trainers.  You will also have excellent customer service skills and be confident in giving drivers feedback.

Work will be allocated on an ad-hoc basis and you will be expected to make yourself available through our online booking system.
