We are recruiting 5 graduates to join our exciting new Level 7 Chartered Town Planner Apprenticeship programme.

We want to make sure that Planning in Kirklees works for all and we are looking for talented graduates from diverse backgrounds to join us.

Alongside the qualification, you will experience working in a number of different teams in the Planning Service to gain a thorough understanding of how different aspects of planning relate to one another.

You will assist with the development and implementation of future planning policies and plans; deal with your own caseload of planning applications; and be involved in investigating potential breaches of planning legislation.

You will combine day-release study at Sheffield Hallam University with working on the job to gain knowledge, skills and experience.

During the Apprenticeship you will spend time collecting a portfolio of evidence and work on a number of projects. You will receive additional support from a nominated mentor and work-based learning coach from Sheffield Hallam University, throughout the duration of the Apprenticeship.

Who can apply?

This opportunity is open to graduates with a Level 6 qualification in Town Planning or a related subject (minimum 2:2 degree).

You will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to problem solve, attention to detail, creative thinking, good communication and the ability to be both a team player and work on your own.

Successful candidates will need to meet the Apprenticeship eligibility Funding criteria and if you are successfully shortlisted your application will be shared with Sheffield Hallam University to check your eligibility to attend the course.
