We are looking for a highly skilled, experienced and motivated individual to join our team at a truly exciting time as we continue to promote the county as a destination to “Visit, Live, Work and Study”.

Our ‘Yorkshire for All’ strategy will be one of collaboration; working in partnership with public and private sector stakeholders to demonstrate our value and financial viability. We are embarking on a range of ambitious and innovative projects which will take Welcome to Yorkshire in 2021 and beyond.

We need an impactful leader with a demonstrable track record of managing governance protocols within a business that will include managing relationships with the Board of Directors, managing a small financial team to maintain records and produce monthly and annual financial reporting compliance, supporting the business strategy and ensuring our operational activities are as effective and efficient as possible.

You will form part of the Senior Leadership Team and work closely with the Chief Executive and Board of Directors as Welcome to Yorkshire embeds new digital activities across its operations and outward facing activities. You will be a key enabler to optimise successful business activity and manage a variety of operational areas including asset and facilities, infrastructure, finance and elements of HR and contracting. You will also support the Senior Leadership team in monitoring budgets and mitigating financial risk.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of similar responsibility and complexity. Our Head of Governance and Finance will have a proven and demonstrable track record of managing governance, preferably in both public and private sector organisations, managing financial records and supporting a financial strategy and broader operational matters.

The role will require great communication skills, an ability to transform strategy into operational practice, an ability to build and strengthen partnerships and collaborative working whilst being able to be flexible in order to adapt quickly and efficiently to changing environments given the sector we work in. You will be required to hold necessary financial qualifications in keeping with the seniority of the role.
