The Pat Testing team is a two-person team which works under the umbrella of the Caretaking & Cleaning service, where customer care is paramount as we provide a high-quality and efficient service to schools, Kirklees buildings, private sector establishments and other external customers.

You will be required to work flexibly which includes early morning starts and sometimes a split rota pattern to meet customer requirements especially in educational premises.

This is a very demanding role, which dictates high levels of concentration, accuracy, physical fitness, and attention to detail, this involves:

  • Using a Seaward Apollo Pat Testing Machine
  • Producing Accurate testing records
  • Changing Fuses and Identifying electrical issues
  • Safe working practices following the HSWA. - (Health/Safety & Work Act)
  • working under and over tables to enable access to P.A.T (portable appliance testing) of computers, cables etc.
  • Working to a tight deadline to adhere to customer requirements.
  • Moving heavy equipment such as washers, fridges etc so they can be tested.
  • Carrying out microwave leakage testing.
  • A good geographic knowledge of Kirklees would be an advantage as we cover the whole of the Kirklees area.

 

We are looking for someone to join the team of Portable appliance testers who:

  • Has good communication and organisational skills with an ability to complete and maintain accurate records using a Seaward Apollo machine.
  • Is dependable and trustworthy.
  • Has a positive attitude
  • Is adaptable and flexible in varied situations.
  • Is a team player.
  • Enjoys a challenging role that is varied.
  • Can deal with customers at all levels of the business.
  • Has literacy skills to enable reading, writing, map reading and completion of paperwork.
