A great opportunity to join a dynamic and evolving team as we embark on the councils most ambitious 30-year programme of improvements to council housing while establishing the Kirklees Housing Standard.

An opportunity to be part of the investment and improvement to homes and communities that will deliver innovation and better outcomes for council tenants and wider citizens of Kirklees.

The main purpose of this role is to aid the capital delivery team in the delivery of schemes of work and one-off improvements, relating to fire safety through on-site supervision of schemes.

You will ensure quality and delivery, of fire safety related works to the housing stock managed by Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing, through inspection, quality control monitoring/reporting and coordination of works on site. Supervision of direct labour and external specialist contractors will form part of your daily tasks, ensuring compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and all other relevant legislation.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Knowledge and experience in delivery of schemes of work through high challenge high Support methods.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Regulatory Reform Order (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and its implications relating to complex residential buildings
  • Extensive experience of surveying, preparing schedules of work, quality control inspections and report writing
  • Extensive knowledge and experience regarding fire stopping methods and their application to real building projects.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Health & Safety at an operational level
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of the Building Regulations, Disabled Access, Fire, Asbestos, CDM and Health & Safety Legislation
