This job is internally restricted. To apply for this job you must be an employee of the Council for the duration of the recruitment process – up to and including the start date. You must also be a substantive employee (or an employee with 12 months continuous service or more) of the Council or an Apprentice. Please note that if you work for an Academy you are not an employee of the Council.

Re-ablement is at the heart of the service provided by Kirklees Council’s Short Term and Urgent Support Team, delivering intensive service in the home, offered to people with disabilities and those who are frail or recovering from an illness or injury.  As a Localities Manager, you will be part of a team of re-ablement professionals, consisting of a Team Manager and other Locality Managers working in the Short Term and Urgent Support Team. Having responsibility for a particular locality within the wider service team, you will lead a team of Home Support Co-ordinators and Home Support Workers and, on occasion, deputise for the Team Manager.

Leadership skills are a vital component of this role. You will be part of a larger multi-disciplinary team working in partnership with health staff (community and acute trusts), the independent sector, Locala, Wellbeing and Communities Early Intervention and Prevention Service, community care teams and the brokerage team. You will assist the Team Manager in the development of a performance management framework in order to meet performance targets and key performance indicators which assist in demonstrating the benefits realisation of a re-ablement service. You will contribute to budget management, making decisions within a locality that adhere to the philosophy and ethos of benefits realisation.
