We are seeking a professional manager with a ‘can do’ attitude to lead our Estate Caretaking Service.  With experience of managing a manual workforce or environmental teams, you will be responsible for delivering a successful Environmental Management Service for tenants and estates across Kirklees, ensuring effective partnership working, efficient resource management and ensuring compliance across the service and tasks delivered by the team

The post has a hybrid working arrangement.

Areas of your direct responsibility will include:-

  • Staff support and development
  • Managing absence
  • Staff performance including conduct issues
  • Team development and training
  • Managing resources and workloads
  • Managing a successful team to enable excellent service delivery
  • Health and Safety Management
  • Working in partnership to address environmental issues with colleagues such as Cleanings, Property Services, and Streetscene
  • Performance monitoring to ensure that the service delivers what is required in line with budgets and resources
  • Problem-solving to deal with issues at pace, and with accuracy
  • Dealing with complaints and enquiries
  • Supporting business critical projects
  • Identification of risks and issues
  • Change management/Service Improvement
  • Recruitment and Induction planning and implementation
  • Deputising for Neighbourhood Housing Services Manager

Representing the Estate caretaking Service in joint working initiatives

Managers will work with colleagues across the organisation in line with Kirklees Councils core behaviours and values, supporting the Neighbourhood Housing Services Manager and Housing Services Strategic Manager to deliver the organisation’s purpose, vision, and objectives.
