The Council has ambitious plans for the economic regeneration and development of Kirklees.

Following an internal promotion we are looking for a real estate lawyer, preferably with at least two years’ experience to join our Real Estate team. A suitably experienced applicant will be appointed at Grade 10.

You will have your own caseload on a variety of commercial and residential property related matters such as the granting and taking of leases, acquisitions, disposals, easements, reports on title, wayleaves and licences including assisting with the Right to Buy disposals and associated enquiries and consents.

You must be a Level 3 CILEx, Licensed Conveyancer, Solicitor or of equivalent qualification or experience.

You should be a confident Lawyer with a commercial and “can do” approach to help deliver the Council’s objectives, assisting the Senior Legal Officers in development and regeneration matters.

The post would suit a candidate who wishes to expand their knowledge in what is one of the most diverse real estate practices you will find.

We offer mobile and agile working, together with access to the local government pension scheme. You will benefit from 28.5 days (+8 public holidays) and rising to 33.5 days holiday after 5 years’ service
