Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA)
Kirklees Council are advertising this role on behalf of Women Centre
The ideal candidate will have considerable experience of providing domestic abuse support; some court support experience and will have completed the Safe Lives accredited IDVA training course or equivalent. However, all suitably qualified and experienced applications are welcomed.
In this role you will be required to work in partnership with the police and criminal justice agencies, as well as with statutory and third sector agencies to provide support and advice to victims of domestic abuse.
Suitable candidates will have sound risk assessment skills; be victim focussed; have a solid understanding of the legal framework relating to domestic abuse civil and criminal proceedings and have excellent communication skills.
