Kirklees Council are advertising this role on behalf of One Adoption West Yorkshire.

One Adoption West Yorkshire is a shared regional adoption service across the 5 West Yorkshire Local Authorities. It is hosted by Leeds City Council with office bases across West Yorkshire. Core services are the recruitment and assessment of all adopters, family finding for children and adoption support through all life stages and our vision is to ensure that children, adopters and birth parents in West Yorkshire receive an excellent adoption service.

We are seeking a Business Support Officer and are looking for someone who has the ability to work with the service to create and maintain a customer focused attitude and approach to promote positive relationships and generate a culture of openness and trust.

The post will be varied and covers all aspects of adoption. The post holder will need to be competent in the use of information technology with a proven record of maintaining computerised record systems. It is expected that the applicant will have an excellent working knowledge of both Microsoft Excel and Word packages.

The work involves issues of a sensitive and confidential nature and applicants will need to display a clear understanding of the need for complete confidentiality at both application and interview stage.

You must be able to work as part of a team and be flexible with energy and commitment. The post holder will be based at our Head Office, Kernel House LS14 and there will be an expectation to cover other offices in the west Yorkshire region as needed.
