We are seeking to appoint a Modelling Analyst into the Research and Intelligence team within the Combined Authority. In your role you will play a key part in the development of early stage business investment cases focusing on the provision of economic appraisal design and advice to project sponsors.

It is an exciting time to be joining the Combined Authority, following the announcement that a £1.8bn devolution deal has been secured for West Yorkshire. Devolution will enable us to drive up living standards for local communities while tackling the climate emergency and help deliver our commitment to become a net zero carbon city region by 2038.

The role

Reporting into Head of Research and Intelligence, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Quantification of the economic benefits of transport schemes that progress through the Leeds City Region Assurance FrameworE
  • Work across the organisation and externally to develop modelling and appraisal approaches.
  • Provide professional appraisal advice on the wider economic benefits flowing from transport schemes.
  • Developing and maintaining key appraisal tools used to support the Combined Authority’s Assurance Framework – such as AMAT.

About you

You will have the following key skills, attributes and experience but not be limited to:

 

  • You will have experience of the DfT’s TAG appraisal framework and its different components.
  • Experience of working with diverse groups of people such as policy makers, local authorities, and consultancies working on modelling and economic appraisal work.
  • Strong project management skill sets and a proven understanding of the HMT Green Book and 5 Cases business development process.
