Kirklees are looking to strengthen our Children’s Social Work teams and are recruiting Family Support Workers to work within our locality social work teams.

If you are passionate about working with children and families and are enthusiastic about supporting families to ensure the best outcomes for children we need you to be part of our teams.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our social work teams and support them in providing outstanding services to children and families. Alongside social workers you will be expected to support and assess the needs, risks and strengths of children, young people and their families with a range of needs. You will work creatively with all family members, engaging effectively with children, young people and their families. You will support families in times of crisis offering both practical and emotional support.

Travel is an essential part of this job and therefore it would be extremely difficult for you to do your job effectively if you did not use a car for all or most of the time. It is essential that you hold a full and valid driving licence, and it is expected that you will either use a council vehicle or your own car (exceptions can be made for disabled applicants).
