This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of the Early Support Service which is made up of the following Teams; Family Support, Mental Health in Families, Family Group Conferencing, Parenting, Communities, Youth, Outdoor Learning, Play, School Transition & Reach Service, Early Support and Inclusion (Disabled Children), Early Year’s Outcomes Team, and Connected Persons Support Team. 

Early Support services work within a Families Together model which is an integrated early support model that brings together diverse services across all sectors to provide a joined up, whole family approach to supporting children and families when, where, and how they need that support. 

As an Early Support Consultant within the CPST, you will work with partners to embed the Whole Family approach into their way of working, ensuring the planning and provision of our support to Kinship children and families is as effective as possible. To achieve this, you will need to be an experienced early support practitioner who understands the needs of Kinship families with a good understanding of the regulatory framework applicable to Special Guardianship Orders.

The restorative approach underpins our work. As well as following the restorative approach, you will use coaching, consultation and co-working skills to build relationships with partners, working in a collaborative way to ensure positive outcomes for children and families.

You will work to support children's services to reduce the need for statutory intervention by encouraging early support partners to work in a Whole Family way, building on family strengths and making the most of community and universal resources.

You will have a level 4 qualification in a relevant field (for example degree; Level 4 qualification in Working with Families) or be able to demonstrate your knowledge and skills through significant experience. 

You will need to demonstrate a clear understanding of safeguarding in practice and understanding of safeguarding procedures.
