This job is internally restricted. To apply for this job you must be an employee of the Council for the duration of the recruitment process – up to and including the start date. A really interesting and new opportunity is available to be part of the Highways Registry & Local Land Charges Team which carries out a wide range of duties.  

The Highways Registry team holds the statutory highway registers & archives and receives a large number of enquiries each day from both internal & external customers. This is a multifaceted technical role that also includes carrying out various highway licensing functions.  

The Local Land Charges team is primarily involved in dealing with and providing information on property searches (which are required by anyone buying a home) This role would also require you to respond to village green and common land enquiries.

Some of the duties include:

  • Data processing (input and retrieval) including using service-based IT systems
  • Use specialist systems such as Kompass and Mayrise where full training will be provided
  • Specialist and technical administrative support
  • Responding to complex enquiries
  • Processing and accounting for cash, cheques, invoices etc.
  • Complex and specialist word processing
  • Information and record management as directed
  • Provide project support, research, and collate information as directed

It is essential that you have a flexible and ‘can do’ attitude, possess excellent customer care skills and good IT skills and that you are familiar with a variety of computer packages in particular Microsoft Office and that you are able to demonstrate business and administrative skills to NVQ level 3. We will provide a full induction package in a Covid safe way that will also include extensive training on the job to learn technical aspects of the role and familiarise yourself with new systems.
