We are looking for child centred teachers to work in our determinedly warm and positive school that values both its staff and pupils. Our vision and values are built on the principles of nurture, which is at the heart of everything we do.
Our school is a special school for pupils with complex needs, accommodating boys and girls with an EHCP aged 4 to 16. We opened in June 2017 following relocation (formally Lydgate School). This has seen us more than double in size since, and we currently have 161 pupils on roll. Further growth is anticipated, and there are potential opportunities for any successful candidate.
There are three pathways in our school to help us deliver a relevant curriculum to meet the very diverse needs of our pupils:
Orchard: Our pupils who benefit (or will be able to) from a more formal curriculum are in the Orchard Pathway. In most cases, their primary need is cognition and learning.
Forest: Our Forest Pathway caters best for pupils who benefit from a semi-formal curriculum. In most cases, their primary need is communication and interaction which forms a significant part of their provision.
Woodland: Our Woodland Pathway is for pupils with high levels of anxiety who need a more personalised and flexible approach. Their primary is usually around their social, emotional and mental health (SEMH).
Our 2 maternity positions are with primary age pupil in the Forest Pathway, but we can be flexible to accommodate the right candidate.
We encourage applications from NQTs to more experienced teachers. There is a strong emphasis on CPD and training for all, and you will receive a comprehensive package of professional support and development. Leaders are committed to supporting staff wellbeing and workload, and this is referenced in our last Ofsted Inspection.
