Kirklees Council are advertising this role on behalf of West Yorkshire Combined Authority.

West Yorkshire Combined Authority are seeking to appoint a Contracts Officer to join our Employment and Skills team.

We bring together local councils and businesses, through the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP) ensure that our work meets the needs of employers so that everyone in our region can benefit from economic prosperity supported by a modern, accessible transport network, housing and digital connections.

It is an exciting time to be joining the Combined Authority, following the announcement of a £1.8bn devolution deal that has been secured for West Yorkshire. Devolution will enable us to drive up living standards for local communities while tackling the climate emergency and help deliver our commitment to become a net zero carbon city region by 2038.

The Role

Reporting into the Employment and Skills Contracts Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the contract management of employment and skills contracts, ensuring that targets are met and a consistent approach is used.
  • Monitoring contract performance and progress against the Employment and Skills key performance indicator targets.
  • Promoting continuous improvement of contract management processes and procedures.
  • Monitoring finance and risks, compiling reports and identifying issues.

About You

You will have the following key skills, attributes and experience:

  • Ability to work together to ensure targets are achieved.
  • Support partnership working across the organisation and externally.
  • Understanding of the contract management requirements of a range of funding streams.
  • Excellent attention to detail and confidence using Microsoft Excel.
