We are looking to appoint an outstanding practitioner to join our wonderful staff team at Ravenscliffe High School. The role will be mainly teaching in our Emergent Pathway team along with a small amount of general teaching in different hubs across school. In terms of age-related learning, these students are operating around 6 months to 3 years but with a curriculum appropriate to young people aged between 11 to 19 years old.

The role will be mainly teaching in our Emergent Pathway team along with a small amount of general teaching in different hubs across school. In terms of age-related learning, these students are operating around 6 months to 3 years but with a curriculum appropriate to young people aged between 11 to 19 years old.

The emergent students have a range of need with many of the students using alternative forms of communication such as visual aids, AAC, and BSL. They also can experience sensory processing difficulties and some can occasionally display challenging behaviours. This is a great opportunity for someone who is keen to develop creative learning opportunities for pupils with varied and complex needs.  Learning opportunities for the students should be highly motivating, related to engaging and exploring experiences and be highly personalised to individual needs. 

The successful candidate will also have responsibility for a mixed ability pastoral group.

Ravenscliffe High School is an Outstanding generic special school, based in Calderdale.

We currently have 249 students on roll, aged between 11-19 years. 

We wish to appoint someone with an attitude that supports the school’s ethos as a principle requirement:

  • is a committed teacher with some experience of delivering a highly bespoke Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.  This could be suitable for an established experienced teacher or someone keen to develop their career in this field.

  • is able to show a real commitment to working as part of a team to meet the individual needs of the students
