Kirklees Council are advertising this role on behalf of Whitcliffe Mount Academy.

We are looking to recruit a Cover Supervisor to take responsibility for groups or classes of students in the short-term absence of their usual teacher, implementing lesson plans as provided and directed by the absent classroom teacher to help deliver good teaching and learning; to ensure, promote and help maintain good standards of behaviour and conduct from students in all areas of the Academy and at all times and to have high expectations of our students and be committed to raising their achievement.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have Maths and English to GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent;
  • NVQ 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualifications or experience;
  • Will have considerable experience of working within an Academy or equivalent including experience of working as a Teaching Assistant;
  • Ability to work on own initiative and be able to respond independently to unexpected challenges;
  • Love encouraging, motivating and inspiring young children through the support they give in order to encourage their learning;
  • Be committed to our ethos that all pupils can achieve at Whitcliffe Mount;
  • Have great references demonstrating they are a suitable candidate, safe to work with children.
