Kirklees Council are advertising this role on behalf of Home-Start Kirklees 

Home-Start Kirklees is a family support charity, helping families with young children deal with whatever life throws at them. We help families with isolation, bereavement, mental health issues, financial insecurity and many more. Our local network of trained volunteers and paid expert staff help families with young children throughout their toughest times. Our vision is that children will have best start in life and families will be safe, healthy and resilient.

We are currently recruiting for an Administrator/Bookkeeper

37 hours per week - annual salary NJC scale SCP 7-11 (£22,369 – £24,054) pro rata. Starting salary SCP 7 (£22,369), increasing to SCP 8 at the end of a satisfactory probationary period). Job share applications will be considered.

The post holder will work as part of our small admin team to provide effective and efficient administration to the whole organisation. The position will report to the Business Manager.

 Essential requirements include:

  • Experience of working in an administrative role
  • Excellent IT literacy (including Microsoft Office package)
  • Experience of basic bookkeeping
  • Working with accounting software (e.g. Quickbooks would be a distinct advantage)
  • Understand GDPR, confidentiality and professionalism in the workplace
  • Ability to work as part of a team with supervisory support
  • Car driver/owner (expenses will be paid)
