School Organisation and Planning Manager
The School Organisation and Pupil Place Planning team plays a key role in commissioning future provision, working closely with the local school system to ensure there are sufficient school places.
The work of the team contributes to the positive educational outcomes for families in Kirklees. As such, the work of the team is subject to intense legal, political and educational scrutiny.
You will lead and manage the School Organisation and Planning Team, responsible for the development and delivery of school organisation and planning initiatives.
You will be the single point of contact for schools considering and carrying out a change of school category, for example becoming Trust Schools or Academies providing technical support and advice, and will be responsible for coordinating activities required to support a smooth transition through any implementation process.
Close liaison and communication will be carried out with other relevant Council services and the Department for Education as required. This will be carefully managed by you to guide and inform the work of the team and to maintain the reputation of Kirklees Council.
You will effectively manage complex data and intelligence and present it in an accessible way to support and inform different stakeholders, providing the evidence base for options and business cases. You will monitor best practice elsewhere to identify potential opportunities for improvement.
A strong and effective manager, you will supervise a team of Senior School Place Planning Officers to include their development and support, as required within the Council’s Performance Management System.
We are willing to consider requests for flexible working arrangements within the service needs to attract the right candidate for this important role.
