Home-Start Kirklees have a new vacancy. The part-time post is substantive and not open to job share.

Home-Start is a voluntary organisation committed to promoting the welfare of families through recruiting and training volunteers to provide family support. Our vision is to be a society in which every parent / carer has the support they need to give their children the best start in life.

We are currently recruiting for:

Volunteer Recruitment and Development Co-ordinator

20 hours per week - annual salary scale SCP 14 – 20 (£22,462 - £25,295 pro rata, increasing to SCP 15 £22,911 at the end of a satisfactory probationary period).


We have a vacant post available for a Volunteer Recruitment and Development Co-ordinator, who will lead on the recruitment of new potential volunteers to support the charity’s work. The post holder will be responsible for marketing and promoting volunteering opportunities, on-boarding to volunteer training and working in partnership with other agencies to raise awareness of volunteering roles. The Co-ordinator will also be responsible for reaching a broad range of diverse people across the district. Some evening and weekend work may be required on occasion. The post holder will report to the senior members of staff.

Essential requirements include:

  • Experience of caring for young children.
  • Experience of working with volunteers.
  • Ability to use IT and social media to market volunteer roles.
  • Ability to work as part of a team with supervisory support.
  • Understand confidentiality and professionalism in the workplace.
  • Car driver/owner (expenses will be paid).
  • Experience of working with vulnerable groups and ensuring safeguarding practice is embedded and adhered to.
