Development Officer - Internal
This job is internally restricted. To apply for this job you must be an employee of the Council for the duration of the recruitment process – up to and including the start date. You must also be a substantive employee (or an employee with 12 months continuous service or more) of the Council or an Apprentice. To be successful in this post we need a modern, flexible and emotionally intelligent workforce. We are looking for a professional who will work closely with the Commissioning manager for learning disabilities and who can develop effective working relationships with key partners within the council and our local health partners.
The successful applicant will be experienced or able to demonstrate a strategic approach to commissioning and understanding of the learning disability care market, what we currently have, what is working well and not so well, identifying gaps in provision and changing needs.
The successful applicant will be experienced in working with people who access adult social care and carers. They will need to develop positive effective working relationships to understand the challenges they face and what is important to them to achieve choice and control how they live their lives and achieve positive outcomes.
The successful applicant will be experienced in carrying out project work, working with a wide range of partners, people who access services and carers to develop creative new ways of delivering care and support services. They will need to develop project plan documents and sometimes lead on delivering the project plans.
To be successful in this post the applicant will need to be able to carry out research on national policy and best practice and understand how they could be implemented locally. They will be happy to work at all levels across the organisation and with our partners.
