Our successful Church of England School is looking for a passionate, committed Educational Teaching Assistant with great enthusiasm and energy to join our new team who will work as part of a team within our specialist provision for children with complex communication and interaction needs. The provision has 12 transitional places for KS1 and KS2 children as well as providing outreach for primary schools in Kirklees.

We would like you to:

-        Work as part of a highly skilled team.

-        Be able to assess need, provide learning and educational activities.

-        Develop skills, supporting integration and transition, securing children’s physical and emotional well being, whilst raising self-esteem and encouraging independence.

This role will involve a combination of support on a one to one and small group basis either in or out of the classroom or specialist provision base. It also involves working with staff from other schools in order to prepare them to fully meet the needs of the children in their local mainstream school. The post involves working in partnership with parents/carers and families in order to build confidence and trust.

Dependant on experience, this role may also see you providing an outreach service to other schools, sharing your expertise and supporting pupils in other settings.

We can offer:

-        Quality induction and training specific to your role

-        A supportive, friendly team.

-        A caring ethos with strong links to St Saviour’s Parish Church, Brownhill.

-        A strong emphasis on collaborative work.

Our school opened in April 2014 and has gone from strength to strength since that time. In November 2016 we were judged as ‘OUTSTANDING’ in a SIAMs inspection and in May 2017 as ‘good’ with outstanding Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare. We pride ourselves on fostering a welcoming, supportive and nurturing learning environment where all members of the school community work hard to achieve their goals.
