We are on an ambitious journey and looking for a passionate and committed Project Manager to work within the Youth Engagement Service to support the activities of the Youth Justice Management Board.

Kirklees is developing a Youth Practice Model identified as the Youth Engagement Service. The service aims to provide support to all Young People identified at risk of all forms of exploitation, gang affiliation and criminal influences.

The Youth Engagement Service incorporates the Exploitation Engagement Team and The Youth Justice Service. This newly formed role will support the development of the whole service and provide intensive support and function to the Youth Justice Management Board and the multiple subgroups servicing the Board.

As the Project Manager, you will be at the forefront of development, to enhance the performance of the whole service and the integration with partners.

You will hold an influential position and work to support colleagues to understand emerging trends and issues along with maintaining progression of the subgroup’s tasks and delivery.

The role will require an oversight of changes in legislation and standard practice to ensure awareness and understanding across the service is developed and maintained.

The Youth Engagement Service is integral to how Kirklees develops and delivers support for young people at risk of exploitation.

Within Family Support and Child Protection we want to make a positive difference to the lives of children and young people. You will be part of a new and exciting service which is aims to ensure young people feel safe and are safe, young people are consulted about their concerns, are listened to and responded to with appropriate actions.

We are looking for an experienced individual with:

  • Ability to work collaboratively with partners.
  • Specialist knowledge of Contextual Safeguarding.
  • Ability and experience with management of multi-agency boards or similar.
  • Ability to use management systems and procedures and develop improvements in working practice.

You will have a strong understanding of what best practice looks like and be passionate about inspiring and improving children’s lives. Working restoratively which involves innovation and locality working with high quality relationships at the heart of our approach.  A creative and flexible approach to work and the drive and motivation to improve our services are key.

You will report to the Service Manager and work within a multi-disciplinary and integrated team.
