As a Senior Supported Employment Officer (SSEO) you will work across Kirklees. In this role you will support participants who may have barriers to employment into work. The SSEO role aims to assist REAL Employment by providing a professional and consistent employment support offer to participants whilst empowering individuals to actively engage with the programme and their own employment journey overcoming personal barriers into work.

An effective SSEO will:

  • Work with partners, colleagues and wider support networks across the district, to progress residents into sustainable employment.
  • Be progressive when managing participants and use a variety of appropriate strategies to help them overcome barriers and progress into sustainable employment. 
  • Maintain a positive and proactive experience for the participants you support on the Works Better Programme.
  • You will be part of a team providing excellent services to vulnerable adults. You will ensure individual needs and aspirations are always supported.
  • You will be Supervising/Managing a small team of advisors.
  • We are a Monday-Friday service, and you will be expected to work between the hours of 8.30-4.30, with a mix of working from home as well as the office and community.

Key Points:

  1. You will be part of a team providing services to vulnerable adults ensuring individual needs are supported and that risk is managed. You will promote well-being and independence through early intervention and prevention.
  2. Using your experience in social care you will be a role model to the team and support the Team Manager in developing the potential of the team.
  3. You will be required to develop positive professional working relationships with partner agencies.
  4. You will also be required to ensure effective, accurate and timely record keeping and administration.
