West Yorkshire Combined Authority are seeking to appoint a Business Analyst to join our ICT Services section.

It is an exciting time to be joining the Combined Authority, following the announcement that a £1.8bn devolution deal has been secured for West Yorkshire. Devolution will enable us to drive up living standards for local communities while tackling the climate emergency and help deliver our commitment to become a net zero carbon city region by 2038.

The Role:

Reporting to the ICT Programme Manager, you will provide expertise for the organisations’ requirements for critical business projects. This role is important for the delivery of future ICT projects and business changes.

Technology within the Combined Authority has never been more business critical and following a successful digital transformation programme, the organisation’s approach to ICT is now more modern, dynamic and forward thinking. We have plans to continue this exciting change so that we become a truly Digital First organisation by the use of flexible, innovative solutions which will benefit our partners and staff.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead responsibility for business analysis and process improvement, including the design and use of new systems.
  • Create and develop functional and configuration specifications for new systems and processes.

About You:

We’re looking for someone with experience and understanding of ICT software and hardware, experience which allows them to lead and direct workstreams requiring business analysis skills. Importantly, your skills and knowledge will allow you to step in and undertake activities which will steer and direct any future solutions.  Your analysis methodologies will be a key part of your success in this role.

Ability to work independently, proactively and in a team setting while ensuring stakeholders are kept informed.

Organised, independent, and self-motivated with a team player attitude.

Significant proven experience in Business Analysis gained through professional development activities undertaken in a range of multidisciplinary fields.

Detail oriented, analytical and inquisitive.

Experience of project management principles and methodologies (such as PRINCE2/AGILE).

Providing a first-class customer service is key and here you’ll lead by example.  Importantly, your gravitas and people skills will allow you to communicate technology matters to a wide range of stakeholders in a tailored way that brings others on side.

You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience:

  • Hold a degree in an ICT related discipline or relevant demonstrable practical experience.
  • Comprehensive experience of business analysis.
  • Business Analysis training courses
