Experienced Social Workers (Level 3) will be considered with a view to complete the senior practitioner progression route.
This team will be based within the Youth Engagement Service alongside the Youth Engagement Team and the Youth Justice Service. You will be supported by your team and the wider service.
The aim of the Youth Engagement Service is to provide a flexible and responsive service to reduce risk and vulnerability to child exploitation, criminality and episodes of missing from home and care. We are a large team that work collectively and collaboratively to find the best ways to support individuals and address community issues. The new team will offer support to families alongside these services.
We are looking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic team who can work intensively with families within a practice model. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of newly developed team and approach to practice that keeps families together.
The Role
You will play a key role in supporting and delivering Kirklees’ Edge of Care provision. You will be instrumental in modelling and supporting the effective delivery of intense, evidence-based interventions to families at risk of breakdown, using trauma informed, restorative, and strength-based approaches. You will also lead on and work collaboratively with the Children Looked After Service on the reunification of those children and young people where it is safe for them to return home.
You will provide expert guidance and oversight on complex cases, ensuring robust safeguarding and risk management while promoting reunification where safe and appropriate. You will support family lead practitioners in a way that promotes model adherence, strong multi‑agency working, home‑based interventions, and integrated step‑down programmes. You will deliver interventions and support others to do so. You will also support the team manager

What is the working pattern?
The working pattern will be full-time between Monday and Friday.
