An exciting opportunity has become available for a Lead Practitioner of Science at Thornhill Community Academy.

We are looking for an experienced and outstanding teacher who can inspire our students to learn with enthusiasm and to enjoy the experiences a school can bring to a child. Support and training will be second to none for the best candidate.

Science is a very strong subject, and will continue to be an integral part of our positive onward journey. We are seeking to appoint a Lead Practitioner to help develop the quality of teaching and learning in the department and make a significant impact across the Academy.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be educated to degree level with QTS in their subject;
  • Have successful experience in teaching Science at GCSE
  • Have experience of implementing departmental school strategies
  • Be an effective classroom practitioner with a proven track record of inspiring and motivating students
  • Be able to plan for success and evaluate progress and outcomes
  • Be able to coach, inspire and enthuse students effectively
  • Be committed to our ethos that all students can achieve at Thornhill Community Academy
  • Have great references demonstrating they are a suitable candidate, safe to work with children.
