Based in Leeds City Centre
Permanent
Grade J: £30 948 - £35 835 per annum pro rata for 24 hours per week (pay award pending)

Kirklees Council are advertising this role on behalf of West Yorkshire Combined Authority.

This is a great opportunity to help shape the West Yorkshire Combined Authority as it transitions to becoming a Mayoral Combined Authority following the agreement of a landmark  £1.8 bn devolution deal recently agreed which will put the Region at the forefront of the Government’s Northern Powerhouse delivery agenda. Further detail about the devolution deal and what it will bring to the region is available here.

The Combined Authority brings together district partners, the business community via Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership and the Passenger Transport Executive (branded Metro). Overall, the Combined Authority covers a population of around 2.5 million people and represents one of the largest economies outside London.

We are looking to recruit HR Advisors into the team to support the organisation through a period of change. The role will support a programme of work to get the organisation ready for an elected mayor and mayoral office in May 2021 and the transfer of additional functions into the organisation if required. This will involve supporting specific workstreams within the wider programme along with the Head of HR and HR Business Partner to review our organisational structures, setting up new functions and departments, and ensuring our terms and conditions of employment reflect the future needs of the organisation and a TUPE transfer.

We are looking to recruit an experienced HR Advisor into the team to support this change. Although the role has a generalist focus across all HR functions, some previous experience of organisational design and TUPE would be advantageous as this will be the initial focus of the role.

West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s aim is to attract people from diverse backgrounds building an inclusive culture, we welcome applications from everyone regardless of age, race, gender, religion or beliefs, disability, gender identity or sexual orientation. In return we can offer a flexible and encouraging environment that will allow you to achieve your best work/life balance and career goals; with a range of benefits including a local government career average pension scheme and a fully funded travel MCard (zone 1-5). We are committed to enabling working parents to progress their careers and will consider requests for flexible working patterns and job share arrangements.

Please note: Whilst it is our policy to recruit at SP1 for all appointments, each role has career salary progression, with incremental increases applicable in most cases on an annual basis.
