We are looking for an inspirational Pastoral Manager who will be able to lead and enhance the pastoral offer across school. They will fulfil an important role in our experienced and child centred intervention team.

Our school is a special school for pupils with complex needs, accommodating boys and girls with an EHCP aged 4 to 16. We opened in June 2017 following relocation (formally Lydgate School). This has seen us more than double in size since, and we currently have 161 pupils on roll. Further growth is anticipated, and there are potential opportunities for any successful candidate.

Key Roles:

  • Co-ordinate pastoral support for pupils across school, working closely with the intervention team and class staff
  • Lead and motivate staff teams to ensure high outcomes for pupils
  • Build close professional partnerships with a range of external agencies
  • Monitor and support pupil attendance
  • Take a lead role to ensure pupils with medical, physical and sensory needs are fully supported
  • Support our comprehensive safeguarding team

We are a school committed to the principles of nurture with 3 distinct pathways. Each pathway is underpinned by a strong research and development base and offers a specialist curriculum. Co-productions and close working with families is central to our school.

We offer our staff extensive professional development opportunities and a supportive culture to promote positive wellbeing across the school community.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff are subject to an enhanced DBS check. A conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process.

If you require further information about the role or if you would like to arrange a visit to the school, please contact Ruth Perfitt, Deputy Headteacher on telephone: 01484 504544. Visits are encouraged and welcomed on most days.
