Advanced ETA Cover Supervision - Ravenshall School
COVER SUPERVISOR : GRADE 9 required to start 02/11/2020 or sooner if possible
Ravenshall School is seeking to appoint an experienced Cover Supervisor to join our highly effective Teaching Support Team.
If you are passionate about improving students’ life chances, have experience of working with children who have a wide range of Special needs including ASC, SEMH and complex learning needs alongside having the skills to teach pupils in meaningful and engaging way, then we would like you to hear from you.
Ravenshall School is a highly successful Outstanding Special School for pupils aged 4 -19 who have learning difficulties and a wide range of medical and complex needs. Many of our pupils also have communication difficulties.
The role will provide cover supervision for absent teaching staff, delivering set work, managing behaviour and work closely with other colleagues in the classroom including ETAs and other support staff.
Additionally, being part of the Support team, the successful candidate will undertake the full duties of supporting students in class groups, individual 1:1 programmes and intervention sessions, mentoring and specialist tuition.

You should have expertise and experience of working with children and young people who have SEND and can confidently support teaching staff and students to improve their educational and social potential.
The successful candidate will demonstrate effective questioning techniques, creative teaching methods suited to the needs of pupils with SEND and support students to undertake a varied range of learning activities suited to their learning needs.
The Cover Supervisor team at Ravenshall plays a key role in supporting the effective daily routines of the school therefore it is essential that the successful candidate has good IT skills and is competent in using a wide range of software programmes.
Previous experience as a Teacher or Educational Teaching Assistant is essential.
