We are on an ambitious journey and looking for a passionate and committed Service Manager to lead and manage our Care Leaver service, to actively promote and contribute to the continual development of the Care Leaver Service.

Within Family Support and Child Protection we want to make sure that we make a positive difference to the lives of children and young people. You will lead your teams to deliver a service where children feel safe, are consulted about their concerns, are listened to and responded to with appropriate actions.

Developing critical partnerships across the Council and with key partners, e.g. health, schools and the police, to deliver seamless services across boundaries taking a whole system approach is key to this job.

Reporting to the Head of Service, you will be responsible for oversight and management of 3 Team Leaders, who manage the Personal Advisors and a Careers Advisor.

This exciting opportunity will benefit from the leadership of a creative thinker who is able to work with partners to deliver services to care leavers and co-produce access to services for young adults needing support.

We are also looking for an experienced manager with a proven track record in managing employees, budgets and performance. You will have a strong understanding of what best practice looks like and be passionate about inspiring and improving children’s lives, as well as the continuous professional development of practitioners. We are pioneering a Restorative Practice approach to our work which involves innovation and locality working with high quality relationships at the heart of our approach.   A creative and flexible approach to work and the drive and motivation to improve our services are key.

It is desirable that you hold a Social Work England (SWE) recognised Social Work Qualification and be registered with SWE, but will consider other professional qualifications and evidence of extensive experience in this area of work.
