 Job 1 - Permanent

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Commissioning team for Children and Young People at Kirklees Council as we continue to develop and transform our offer. We are looking for an innovative and creative person who can help to shape our strategic vision and strategies by understanding the needs of our children and families and translating this into effective services to increase independence and improve outcomes.

You will have an excellent understand of the commissioning cycle and how to apply it in the context of developing services. You will also have an excellent appreciation of the challenges faced by children and young people with additional needs and their families. You will have a good understanding of contract management and quality assurance.

This role will focus on supporting a number of key agendas, including substance misuse, careers provision, support to Carers, short breaks, Local Offer, and aspects of Special Educational Needs (SEND)   You will also be responsible for ensuring that required outcomes are being delivered, to the quality and standard that is expected.

Job 2 - temporary to work on specific projects and is not expected to go beyond 31/12/2022.

Kirklees Council has an ambitious programme of capital investment to improve facilities and outcomes for our children and young people. We are looking for a person with the experience and knowledge required to drive forward our innovative capital projects and deliver value for money. You will work alongside colleagues in Children’s services as well as the Council’s Economy and Infrastructure team.

You will have an up to date understanding of best practice in accommodation and community building projects, as well as a proven track record of successful project delivery. You will also have an excellent appreciation of the challenges faced by children and young people with additional needs and their families.

The role will require the knowledge and ability to seek out additional funding streams to enhance the existing funding and maximise our offer.
