Headteacher - Littletown Junior Infant and Nursery School

To commence: September 2024 (may consider January 2025)

Following the retirement of our successful and well respected Headteacher, the Governors of Littletown Junior Infant and Nursery School are looking to appoint an inspirational, enthusiastic Headteacher to lead our team.

We are an extremely inclusive school and would expect the successful candidate to work collaboratively with colleagues and governors to continue delivering high standards of education and nurture, and to further develop our school by constantly reviewing our curriculum provision and remaining at the forefront of developments in primary education.

We anticipate the new appointment to commence on the 1st of September 2024, or as soon as possible thereafter.

Littletown JIN, situated in Liversedge, Kirklees, is home to 196 pupils. Since 2012, Littletown JIN has been a foundation school, taking an active role in its local community as part of the Spenborough Co-Operative Trust.

Our mission statement ‘A continuous provision of quality and nurture for each unique child’ is fundamental to the success of the pupils in ensuring they feel valued and supported on their educational journey.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have a strong track record of working as part of a Senior Leadership Team.
• Lead school improvement and raise educational standards for all children.
• Have an excellent knowledge of curriculum development from Early Years through to Year 6 (this is particularly important in our school where we have mixed age classes).
• Enjoy developing, coaching and supporting team members to ensure they provide the best possible education and care for our pupils.
• Align to the mission, vision and values of the school.
• Be approachable and accessible to all staff, pupils and parents, demonstrating empathy and compassion.
• Have a strong knowledge base and extensive experience of supporting children with SEND.
• Is willing and able to get involved in all areas of school life showing flexibility and adaptability.
