The Young People’s Activity Team provide short break/respite services to children and young people aged 5 -18. All the young people who use the service have a permanent and substantial disability; some may also have complex medical needs.
You will work closely with the management team to deliver a safe and stimulating service effectively and competently. You will also have the opportunity to work in different establishments across Kirklees and to work with other professionals from partner agencies. You will plan and deliver sessions for young people on a regular basis, catering for their very differing needs.
You will need:-
- Experience of working with children with disabilities, complex medical needs and behaviour that can challenge;
- Experience of planning a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities for children and young people;
- Experience of supervising staff and volunteers.
The Service operates 7 days a week (excluding Public Holidays) and some evenings until 9.30pm, 52 weeks a year. Therefore you must be willing and able to work flexibly including evenings and weekends as required.
