The Job 

To enable us to achieve our vision and to ensure our customers receive the best possible service, we are seeking Housing Assistants primarily to work in our Empty Homes Team. 

As a Housing Assistant you will deliver customer focused services. You will assist customers dealing with enquiries by telephone/email, resolving issues at first point of contact where possible. The job involves a high volume of data processing and use of in- house computer systems. 

The post holder will work with colleagues across the organisation in line with KNH’s core behaviours and values ensuring positive outcomes for the business and customers. 

Housing Assistants in the Empty Homes Teams will work closely with partners to ensure efficient turnaround of properties within agreed targets. You will be required to manage the progress of empty homes ensuring tenancies are ended appropriately and properties are sent for advertising in a timely manner. You will manage the shortlists for properties and match applicants to properties, arranging accompanied viewings and sign-ups for new tenancies.. You will work closely with customers and key partners to ensure that properties are let appropriately.

To do this role you will need: 

  • Minimal GCSE grade 4 (c ), or equivalent qualification in maths and English
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own workload
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to cope with a range of challenging situations and be resilient to the pressures of the role
  • Previous experience of working in customer service
  • A good level of computer literacy
