Please note you are only eligible to apply for this role if:
- You have been resident in the UK for at least 3 years (there are some exceptions to this, so applicants will need to be considered on a case-by-case basis as required.
- You are not in full time compulsory education.
- You are able to meet the entry requirements of the qualification and to undertake the studying and coursework required to complete the course.
The Job Role
The Asset Maintenance team identify defects and programme repairs as well as
Investigating service requests and complaints relating to the condition of the highway (pavements, road surfaces walls etc.)
As a Business Support Apprentice in the Asset Maintenance Team in Highways you will Provide admin support to the team in the following areas:
- Visiting sites with Asset Maintenance Technicians to investigate service requests
- Helping with the processing of applications for the construction of vehicular footway or verge crossings
- Working on IT systems to log defects and cross check repairs
You will work towards a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship
We’d like to hear from you if you are:
- Interested in working in a local authority
- Keen to develop transferable skills while learning how a local authority Highways Service manages it’s assets
- Wanting to continue to develop educationally while learning on the job
- Good at working as part of a team
You will need:
- 2 GCSEs in Maths and English
- An interest in learning about Highways Asset Management
- Good communication skills
- IT skills
